‘At Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC) I work together with doctors from the Internal Medicine department on a pilot to find out how Artificial Intelligence can allow them to spend more time to patients. Equipment with microphones literally work out conversations and make a summary of the existing data. Finally they deliver through a predictive model which diagnosis patients received who have received similar complaints. The advantage of working at the LUMC is that the Faculty of Science is just around the corner. Five minutes of cycling and I’m sitting with my old one teachers around the table to discuss topics of AI. Also during my time at the faculty there was an ‘open’ door policy’ and I could always walk in and have a chat with my teachers.’
